William Richard "Bill" Connell, 91, of Nashville, died Friday January 10, 2025 at his residence.

He was born January 27, 1933 in Berrien County to the late Willie "Bud" Connell and the late Inez Giddens Connell. He was a retired 20 year Captain in the United States Marines Corps with service in Vietnam and Korea. He was a member and deacon of Flat Creek Church, taught Sunday School for many years and organized trips to various parts of the United States for missionary work. He was the author of two books and was preceded in death by a daughter: Janet Diane Connell who died in 1984 and a sister: Virginia Luke.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years: Faye Harnage Connell of Nashville; son: Steve (Debra) Connell of Nashville; 3 grandchildren: Thomas Connell of Valdosta, Valerie Connell of Valdosta and Mary Anne Black of Florida; 4 great grandchildren: Lola, Thomas Korbin, Atlas and Devin.

Funeral services will be held Monday January 13, 2025 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Swain officiating. Interment will follow in the Flat Creek cemetery. Visitation is Monday one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Flat Creek Church.
