Obituary

Willie Mae Bennett, 93, of Nashville, died Friday July 8, 2022 at Pruitt Crestwood Nursing Home in Valdosta.

She was born December 29, 1928 in Berrien County to the late Arthur Woods and the late Bertie Fender Woods. She was a retired housekeeping supervisor with Louis Smith Memorial Hospital in Lakeland and was a member of the Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband: Max Simmons; 3 brothers: J.W. Woods, Fred Kelly and D.C. Kelly.

She is survived by 5 daughters: Ava Evans of Pearl River, LA, Linda Bailes of Milton, FL, Mary Moore of Pearl River, LA, Patricia Ann Murhee of Ray City and Dorsi Lynn Simmons of Nashville; 2 sons: Ira Virgil "Buddy" Stone of Hattiesburg, MS and Marvin Kyle Pearson of Nashville; sister: Elizabeth Sutton of Quitman; numerous grand, great and great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday July 15, 2022 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Murrell Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview cemetery. Visitation is Friday one hour prior to the service.
