Wilma Jean Singletary, 81, of Howell, died Saturday January 28, 2023 at the Fellowship Home in Valdosta.
She was born November 24, 1941 in Berrien County to the late Mack Sirmans and the late Idella Brantley Sirmans. She was a retired seamstress with Levi Strauss Co, having worked for 42 years and a member of the Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She loved her family, enjoyed making cakes and working in her yard. She was the widow of Bennie Singletary who died in 2012 and was also preceded in death by a daughter: Diane Morgan; 2 sisters: Mary Ruth Winterburn and Aline Hiam.
She is survived by a son: Dennis Singletary of Howell; son-in-law: Jeff Morgan of Howell; 2 grandchildren: Daniel (Tiffany) Morgan of Dasher and Gabrielle (Colby) Carter of Lake Park; 3 sisters: Willene Belford of Plant City, FL, Tina Burkhalter of Ray City and Shirley Temples of Nashville; brother-in-law: Donnie Singletary of Jesup; 2 great grandchildren: J.D. Morgan and Adelia Morgan; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 1, 2023 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Boykin officiating. Interment will follow in the Poplar Springs cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
