Wilson Smith, 81, of Willacoochee, died Thursday December 30, 2021 at his residence.

He was born December 1, 1940 in Coffee County to the late James Gordon Smith and the late Nellie Harper Smith. He was a farmer and worked for the Coffee County Tax Assessor for 20 years. He was a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church and was a deacon for over 40 years. He was preceded in death by a sister: Carolyn Smith Vickers and his greatest gift was simply being called "Grandpa".

He is survived by his wife: Barbara Hendley Smith of Willacoochee; daughter: Melanie (Neal) Summerlin of Willacoochee; son: Marlin (Bridget) Smith of Adel; 3 grandchildren: Kale Smith, Nate Smith and Camille Summerlin.

Funeral services will be held Saturday January 1, 2022 at 2 PM in St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Garvie Nichols, Jr, Rev. Robert Wigley and Rev. Jackie Connell officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Luke cemetery. Visitation is Saturday at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church or Hospice of Tiftarea.
