Obituary

Wonnie Wayne Royals, 75, of Nashville died Wednesday July 23, 2014 in the Langdale Hospice House.

He was born August 20, 1938 in Lanier County to the late Willie Royals and the late Edna Hughes. He retired as a lineman from GTE, an Air Force Veteran and a member and deacon at Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Watson Royals and 3 brothers: Wyman Royals, Winston Royals and Murel Royals.

He is survived by his wife: Joyce Harris Royals of Nashville; 2 sons: Mike (Becky) Royals of Valdosta and Bob (Diane) Royals of Nashville; daughter: Diane Larson of Great Falls, MT; 2 step sons: Russell (Roni) Warren of Nashville and Michael (Rebecca) Warren of Nashville; 2 brothers: James Royals of Nashville and Letha Royals of Lakeland; sister: Lucille Gaskins of Valdosta; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will e held Friday July 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. J.W. Dukes, III, Rev. Bobby Fussell and Rev. Jackie Connell officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
